Setbacks & Change

This is my Understanding of Setbacks and Change that comes from my Experiences and by Applying the Principles of Bhagavad Gita in my Life.

Sometimes a certain setback in our life ruins all our planned strategies, and we make that particular setback as the central point of our life. But is the future created according to our strategies? For example, does the preplanned strategies of the mountaineer enable him to reach the mountain peak? Not really, as he advances with his climb on the mountain, he faces numerous new challenges, new barriers and new setbacks. On every occasion, he has to make a decision for his next step and change his strategy accordingly so that his previous strategy does not make him fall off the cliff. He is unable to change the mountain as per his plans, he can only change himself according to the mountain. Is it not quite the same with our life as well? When we make any one particular challenge or a setback as the central point of our lives, and stop the general flow of our life, we neither become successful nor do we get any happiness or peace. Therefore, rather than to try and change the life according to our needs, is it not better to change ourselves according to life? Is this not a better strategy to obtain peace and happiness?

What do you think about it?

"We only have the right to our work and not to its results. Therefore, it is neither advisable to give up our work nor to expect any results for the same." - Bhagavad Gita
